Hydraulic & Pneumatic Tool & Gauge Calibration Performed in ANAB ISO/IEC 17025 Accredited Laboratory
Regular independent testing and gauge calibration of your hydraulic tools, pneumatic tools and other equipment ensures that your tooling performs accurately and consistently during use. In many cases industry standards require that high pressure hydraulic and pneumatic tools are tested and calibrated on a regular basis to comply with all necessary quality and safety criteria. The use of equipment, which has not been regularly calibrated, could easily lead to inaccurate loading figures being applied when compared to the requirements of the application specifications.
For the vast majority of hydraulic tooling, the key indicator is the hydraulic pressure gauge.
We refer to the gauges as the “window to the hydraulic system” since it will show you what is going on inside. Physical loads, whether they are lifting, compression, torque, tension or simple pressure testing are entirely dependent on the accuracy of the hydraulic pressure gauge readings. The most common form of pressure gauge is a standard dial type (analog) gauge.
Winshaw Hydraulic Tools offers an in-house test and calibration service, including the issue of an individual test and calibration certificate for each gauge or tool. We recommend the calibration is renewed annually or after each major usage. However, some API certification and calibration standards call for a more frequent recertification or recalibration. For hydraulic torque and tensioning equipment it is preferable that tooling is returned with the gauge in order that the integrity of the entire system can be checked and validated.

ANAB ISO/IEC 17025 Certified
ISO/IEC 17025 is a company level accreditation based on a standard published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) titled "General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories". ISO/IEC 17025 is a general umbrella term used to refer to the specific standard; the current version of this standard is ISO/IEC 17025:2005. The standard contains two main sections: management requirements (primarily related to the operation and effectiveness of the quality management system within the laboratory) and technical requirements (primarily related to the competence of staff and calibration of equipment). The standard also gives requirements related to quality management such as document control and corrective action. This standard is the basis for accreditation from an accrediting body. This accreditation is specific to a scope. This accreditation is intended for all organizations performing tests and/or calibration, including first-, second- and third-party laboratories and laboratories where testing and/or calibration forms part of inspection and product certification.Accreditation will be issued by accrediting bodies after successful completion of an audit.
